JAVI's love for the arts began at a very early age when he discovered his ability to not only play the guitar, but to draw and paint. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in 1989 and started creating his first serious drawings while he was a High School student. Among his first projects, he painted school walls with motivational messages and later started to do private projects for children’s rooms and business signs. At this time, his main technique was utilizing spray paint for the approved graffiti creations.
After High School he started his studies pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Inter-American University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He initially focused his studies in Music, with Guitar as his main Instrument, but discovered that his passion for painting needed his attention, too. JAVI started to paint acrylic workpieces while still a student to cover basic needs. One time he needed to see a Doctor because of a very bad flu, and since he didn’t have Health Insurance to pay for the service, the Doctor agreed to let JAVI create one of his unique paintings as compensation for the service. This actually turned into additional work for some of the Doctor’s friends. Another time JAVI needed a bicycle for transportation, and prepared another beautiful painting, that was warmly welcomed by the bicycle store Owner in exchange for the much needed vehicle for transportation. JAVI derived tremendous peace and relaxation while he created his paintings, and recognized there was a serious decision he needed to make, and decided to re-route his College Studies and ultimately receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Graphic Arts with a minor in Music. He has won multiple contests designing marketing materials, posters, Christmas cards, unique furniture, amongst many other creations. He moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona on January 6, 2016 looking for new creative adventures and is very pleased to call Arizona home. His artwork has had great acceptance in the valley and he still works on some special projects for his hometown in Puerto Rico.
Arena is a sweet and strong Pitbull. Every time I visit this family she is always waiting at the front door to say hi. She protects a family of four and who ever visits them. She's always listening and focused on her commands. Knowing that Arena is so important to this family I found inspiration to make this painting of her and name it "RESPECT"
Emmanuel"PULPO" (which means Octopus in Spanish) is a Professional Baseball player for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Most of the time when he makes a good play he looks at the sky and points, referring to God who he feels is always with him. That inspired me to make this painting and name it "BLESSED"
